[Important Notice] Temporary Closure for Renovations (May 7 – October 29, 2026)
The Hakone Museum of Art will be closed to the public from May 7 to October 29, 2026, for extensive renovation work.
Since opening in 1952, the museum has welcomed visitors for over 70 years, and our main building was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan in 2021. This renovation project is essential to address aging facilities and to ensure the long-term preservation and continued use of this historic cultural site.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
Reopening Schedule (Anticipated)

October 30, 2026: Pre-opening We will launch our newly established cafe in the rest area and open a temporary exhibition room in the Annex.

December 23, 2026: Grand Reopening Following the full renewal of the Main Building exhibition rooms, we look forward to providing an enhanced environment for you to enjoy our permanent collection.
